Publishing For You
Children's Book Publishing
Colorful, durable, beautifully illustrated books that children love to hold and parents love to read aloud.
Children's books are a different beast from adult publishing. The paper needs to be thicker. The colors need to be vibrant. The binding needs to survive being dropped, chewed, and read 200 times. The illustrations are not decoration — they carry half the story. At Sapatrishi Publications, we understand these unique requirements and have published picture books, story collections, educational books, and activity books for children across age groups.
Whether you are a teacher who has written stories for your students, a parent who wants to publish bedtime tales, or an illustrator with a picture book concept, we handle the entire production process. We work with illustrators, or use your existing artwork, and produce books with full-color printing on durable paper stock that looks professional and feels like a real children's book — because it is.
This Is For You If...
You have written a children's story (or a series of stories) and want to publish it as a colorful, illustrated picture book.
You are a teacher or educator creating educational content — alphabet books, moral stories, rhymes — that you want published for wider distribution.
You have both the story and illustrations ready and need a publisher who can produce high-quality full-color printed books.
Why Sapatrishi
- -
Full-color printing on thick, durable paper — 170-250 GSM art paper that withstands rough handling by small hands.
- -
Illustration support — we work with children's book illustrators if you need artwork, or use your own illustrations with professional color correction.
- -
Bilingual children's books — English-Hindi, English-Punjabi, or trilingual editions. Many parents want their children to read in both English and their mother tongue.
- -
Small print runs welcome — start with 50-100 copies to test with local schools and bookshops before committing to a larger run.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have the story but no illustrations. Can you help?
Yes. We work with freelance children's book illustrators and can connect you with an artist whose style matches your story. Illustration costs depend on the number of pages and complexity — typically Rs 1,000-3,000 per illustration.
What paper and binding do you recommend for children's books?
For picture books, we recommend 200+ GSM art paper with laminated covers for durability. Board books (for toddlers) use 300+ GSM cardboard pages. For story books aimed at older children (8+), standard 100 GSM paper with a sturdy cover works well.
Can I publish a children's book in Punjabi?
Absolutely. We publish children's books in Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Hindi (Devanagari), and English. Bilingual editions are popular — the Punjabi text on one side with English translation, which helps children learn both languages.
