English. As an active and dedicated member of the Kafla, she played a vital role in its management team for a long time. Though her sudden

her loving husband Manmohan Gulati.

ਮੈਂ ਮਾਸਟਰ ਦੇਸ ਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕਪੱਖੀ ਉਦਮ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕਪੱਖੀ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।

“ਧੀਆਂ ਜੋਰੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਦਾਰਾ। ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਪੱਕੇ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ’ਤੇ ਲਿਖਵਾ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਸਿਹਰੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਢੁੱਕੂ। ਸੂਰਜ ਉਲਟ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ’ਚੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰ ਰਾਜ ਹੁਣ ਤੇਰੀ ਧੀ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ। ਮੈਂ ਰਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਰਹਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਲੋਹੇ ’ਤੇ ਲੀਕ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ।” ਰਾਣੀ ’ਚ ਏਨੀ ਦਲੇਰੀ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆ ਗਈ ਸੀ? ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਪ ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਗ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
“ਮੇਰੀ ਧੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ’ਤੇ ਡਾਕਾ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਏ ਕੁੜੀਏ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ’ਚ ਹਰ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਰੋੜ ਮਰੋੜ ਕਰ ਰਸਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਜੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਰਹਿਣਾ ਰਾਜ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਾਂਅ ਈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਮਤੀ ਦੀ ਗਰੰਟੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਤੇਰਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਸ਼ਰ ਕਰੂੰ, ਤੂੰ ਸੋਚ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।
